Happy Birthday Prince Frederick

We are really excited to announce that on Saturday 20th January 2018, entry to Ancient House Museum will be free! This will be in honour of Prince Frederick's 150th birthday. Born in 1868, Prince Frederick was the second child and second son of Maharajah Duleep Singh and Maharani Bamba. Ancient House owes a great deal to Prince Frederick. The house became a museum in 1924 after he purchased the building and paid for its restoration. Prince Frederick than gave it to Thetford to be a museum 'for the benefit of the inhabitants of the said Borough.'
